Today, 18 February 2026, Mayor Mihai Polițeanu convened at the municipal headquarters, within the snow-clearing command, the parties responsible for restoring traffic in good conditions on public roads and other access routes, so that activity in our city can be carried out safely.

To remove the snow that has fallen abundantly in recent hours, 26 vehicles have been put into operation. They will act, as a first priority, to clear the main arteries and the access routes to hospitals or institutions providing major emergency services in the city, so that by midday, traffic can be carried out safely.

Likewise, by evening, with the help of the snow-clearing vehicles, traffic in good conditions will also be ensured on the other arteries of circulation in the city.

At this time, 240 employees of S.C. Servicii de Gospodărire Urbană S.R.L. Ploiești and 180 representatives of the sanitation operator Blue Planet are working in the city. With combined forces, they will first remove the snow and ice, including from tram stops, while the other public transport stops will be cleaned in stages throughout today.

We also call upon all property owners in the Municipality of Ploiești to demonstrate civic spirit and to clear the pavements and spaces in front of the properties they own.

At the same time, the administrators of homeowners’ associations and the chairpersons of residential blocks in Ploiești are obliged to mobilise residents in order to remove the snow and ice formed in recent hours. Public institutions, firms and commercial companies have the same obligation. 

Let us join forces so that we, the citizens of the Municipality of Ploiești, together with  the representatives of the municipality and those of the institutions with responsibilities in this matter, may act so that we have a clean and safe city!
