The first performances of April bring to the stage of the „Toma Caragiu” Theatre a selection that brings together stagings of texts from contemporary drama, offering audiences the opportunity to experience varied artistic experiences. The programme features comedies by French authors, who explore, with finesse and humour, the dynamics of couples’ relationships, alongside an original screenplay of disturbing depth, which proposes an introspective journey into the realm of trauma, guilt, and unspoken truths. The little ones, together with the whole family, will be able to enjoy three days dedicated to them, during the fifth edition of the PALM SUNDAY STREET ART FAIR.
A BRILLIANT IDEA – Friday, 3 April, 18:30, „Toma Caragiu” Theatre hall
While searching for an apartment, Arnaud and Marion turn to Cedric, a charming real estate agent, and Arnaud begins to suspect that Marion may be attracted to him.
To resolve the situation, a fortunate coincidence comes to his aid: Arnaud meets Thomas on the metro, the perfect lookalike of the agent, and devises an ingenious plan. Thus, Thomas will pretend to be Cedric, in order to compromise him in front of Marion. Everything seems well thought out, until Cedric and Thomas come face to face right in Arnaud’s home, and the confusion grows even greater with the arrival of Jules, Thomas’s twin brother. Three identical men and an avalanche of confusion! This performance is Sold Out.
A DELIVERY – Saturday, 4 April, 18:30, „Toma Caragiu” Theatre hall
A performance that explores the theme of guilt that does not disappear with the passage of time, but continues to weigh on those involved, shaping their choices and relationships, „A Delivery” speaks of the responsibility of taking ownership of one’s past, of the courage to tell the truth, and of the consequences of silences which, although seemingly protective, end up wounding. At the same time, it brings to the forefront the way in which unresolved trauma is passed from one generation to the next, affecting identity, trust, and the capacity to forgive.
CACTUS FLOWER – Sunday, 5 April, 18:30, „Toma Caragiu” Theatre hall
A comedy full of charm and humour that addresses, with tenderness and irony, universal themes such as lying and sincerity, the fear of commitment and the courage to love, following the characters in search of their own path to happiness, „Cactus Flower” has enjoyed success on both the theatrical stage and in cinema, the first screen adaptation of this play having been honoured with an Academy Award, a BAFTA Awards nomination, and one win and four nominations at the Golden Globe Awards.
