O LIVRARE (A Delivery) – Thursday, 19 March, and Friday, 20 March, 6:30 PM, “Toma Caragiu” Theatre Hall – Premiere
On a seemingly ordinary evening, the tranquillity of the Filipescu couple is disturbed by a mysterious delivery. Determined to discover the truth about his own identity, Dan, a courier who initially seems benevolent, sets in motion a radical plan that triggers a tense and unpredictable confrontation. The two members of the couple are bound together, and the husband is forced to confront a past he has hidden behind the comfort of a stable life. In a moment of desperation, the wife manages to strike Dan, who ends up in serious condition at the hospital, and the lives of all involved will be changed forever.
Alternating between past and present, the production explores profound aspects of human existence, from moral responsibility and the nature of truth to the consequences of decisions taken out of fear or opportunism. “O livrare” thus becomes a stark portrait of a society in which guilt is passed from generation to generation, and silences turn into traumas. The performance is recommended for audiences over 14 years old.
