On Thursday, 2 April 2026, at the meeting hall of the Ploiești City Hall, a meeting was held with the parties responsible for drafting the Ploiești General Urban Plan, ahead of the public consultation stage scheduled for 14 April 2026.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the P.U.G. (General Urban Plan) drafterSC VEGO CONCEPT ENGINEERING SRL, the Chief Architect of the Municipality of Ploiești – Roxana Pandele, the Chief Architect of the Prahova County Council – Andreea Aluchi, the mayor of Bărcănești commune – Daniel Apostol, as well as persons responsible for urban planning and territorial development within the UATs (Territorial-Administrative Units) in the peri-urban area: Bărcănești, Ariceștii Rahtivani, Blejoi, Bucov, Păulești, and Berceni.

The main purpose of the discussion was to establish the future development directions of the peri-urban area, which includes localities directly neighbouring the municipality of Ploiești, with a view to harmonising the spatial development strategy.

The feedback transmitted by participants was not slow in coming and focused mainly on the creation of new lines of communication, as alternatives for the easing of traffic at the city’s exits, the creation of new roundabouts, as well as proposals for future investments in the extra-urban areas of the municipality of Ploiești.

The public consultation stage for the General Urban Plan of the municipality of Ploiești will be hosted by the Imaginario Theatre and is scheduled for Tuesday, 14 April 2026, beginning at 17:00.
