The Municipality of Ploiești is rejoining the route of the Tour of Romania cycling race, one of the most important national sporting events, confirming the tradition and significant role of the city in Romanian cycling.
Mayor Mihai Polițeanu recently held a series of discussions, in the context of preparing for this event, directly with the President of the Romanian Cycling Federation, Mr. Cătălin Sprinceană.
The organisers announce that the current edition of this event will be a special one, the national tour being scheduled to take place between 9-13 September 2026.
The arrival of the Tour of Romania will take place in the Civic Centre of our municipality, an emblematic space for major events, which will become, this time, the meeting point for the competition, the passion for cycling and the public.
The Municipality of Ploiești is a true centre of Romanian cycling, with tradition, history, strong clubs, licensed athletes and results that have written important pages in sport.
The return of the Tour of Romania cycling race to our city reaffirms the commitment of the Ploiești public administration to sport, performance and the promotion of an active lifestyle.
