Julien Desforges, a successful dentist, has a relationship with the young Antonia, before whom he pretends to be married with three children, in order to avoid any commitments. When Antonia, hurt by his indifference, reaches a moment of despair, Julien suddenly proposes marriage to her.
To make sure she does not break up a family, Antonia asks to meet his supposed wife, and Julien, caught in the trap of his own inventions, convinces his assistant Stéphanie to play that role – which sets off a series of comic and unexpected situations.
