The leadership of Ploiești City Hall held, today, a first informal meeting with HoReCa representatives, in the context of the interest expressed for direct dialogue about the future of the central area. The event was also attended by representatives of S.C. URBAN INNOVATION HUB S.R.L., which is drafting the Regulation on Urban Aesthetics and Urban Furniture  for the central area and Independenței Boulevard in the municipality of Ploiești.

During this meeting, the Ploiești executive presented several important projects, financed from European funds, which will be carried out, in the coming period, in the city’s Civic Centre. Through the implementation of these investments, which directly target urban mobility and regeneration of public space, the central area will be transformed, gradually becoming a modern and attractive urban space.

At the same time, local representatives of the HoReCa sector were informed that the General Directorate for Urban Development (Direcția Generală de Dezvoltare Urbană), within the Ploiești public administration, is preparing new regulations that will set new directions regarding local accommodation services, public catering, and also urban aesthetics in the central area of our city, namely:

  • The Regulation on Urban Aesthetics and Urban Furniture (Central Area and Independenței Boulevard);
  • The HoReCa and Public Catering Regulation in the central area.

It was also stated that all these measures and proposed solutions will be aligned with the Integrated Urban Development Strategy (SIDU) of the municipality of Ploiești 2021–2027.

The future Regulation on Urban Aesthetics and Urban Furniture (Central Area and Independenței Boulevard) will clearly establish a set of specific objectives and concrete measures that will form the basis for improving the urban appearance, by drawing up specific colour palettes and defining a stylistic approach that reflects the characteristics and visual identity of our city.

It is also envisaged that a set of rules and directions will be drawn up for the use of design elements, in order to ensure coherence and uniformity in the central area of the municipality of Ploiești.

The new HoReCa and Public Catering Regulation in the central area will comply with the provisions of the legislation in force, today’s meeting representing a stage of direct consultation with representatives of this field of activity.

At the end of the drafting process, the regulations mentioned above will be submitted for approval to the plenary of the Local Council of the Municipality of Ploiești.

The city centre belongs to all citizens, and dialogue with HoReCa representatives will continue in the coming period as well, because we want to build together concrete rules and sustainable projects for this public space loved by the people of Ploiești.

Together we are building a more welcoming city and a vibrant urban centre!
