Beethoven & Prokofiev Concert in Ploiești, 23 April

Beethoven and Prokofiev at the Ploiești Philharmonic, on Thursday, 23 April 2026, at 7.00 p.m., in an extraordinary symphonic concert that brings together on the same stage the music of the “Titan of Bonn” and that of the “enfant terrible” of Russian music.

The evening’s programme invites you on a fascinating journey into the sound world of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, marked by the balance and expressive force of Beethoven’s musical language, and also into the modernity of the 20th century, dominated by the freshness and innovative spirit characteristic of Prokofiev’s music.

In the first part of the evening, you will hear the Overture to „The Creatures of Prometheus”, op. 43, performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the „Paul Constantinescu” Philharmonic, conducted from the podium by maestro Radu Postăvaru, and the Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, both works by Ludwig van Beethoven. The solo part will be performed by Ștefan Arnold, one of the most appreciated pianists of his generation, noted for his virtuosity and interpretive sensitivity.

In the second part of the concert, we invite you to be carried away by the charm of Sergei Prokofiev’s „Sinfonietta” (1929 version), a work full of freshness, in which a playful spirit and orchestral ingenuity shape a modern sound world rich in colour and dynamism.
