Brief description / mission
A trading company wholly owned by the Municipality of Ploiești, responsible for the maintenance and modernisation of green spaces, cemeteries and street furniture, as well as the development and operation of playgrounds and recreation areas. SGU pursues an improvement in the quality of the urban environment through horticultural works, arboriculture, repair/replacement of urban equipment and civic education campaigns.
What it does (main functions)
- Maintains and develops green spaces, street alignments, roundabouts, squares and parks;
- Manages and maintains playgrounds, fountains, gazebos and street furniture;
- Manages municipal cemeteries, providing the related services;
- Horticultural production (woody and floral material) in nurseries;
- Tree-cutting/arboriculture works, plantings, pruning and seasonal sanitation;
- Safety interventions (e.g. dangerous trees) and logistical support for public events.
Founding act / legal basis
- HCL no. 219/28.07.2010 (Local Council Decision) – conversion of ADPP Ploiești into S.C. Servicii de Gospodărire Urbană Ploiești S.R.L.;
- HCL no. 306/12.10.2010 – subsequent amendments and additions.
