S.C. Transport Călători Express S.A. (TCE Ploiești)

Brief description / mission

The municipal public passenger transport operator (bus, trolleybus, tram), subordinated to the Local Council, resulting from the reorganisation of the former Autonomous Authority for Public Transport (RATP). It provides urban and metropolitan mobility, operating the public transport networks and facilities.

What it does (main functions)

  • Operates the transport networks (bus, trolleybus, tram) in the municipality and the peri-urban area;
  • Issues and distributes travel tickets; manages cash desks and points of sale;
  • Maintains the vehicle fleet and the related infrastructure;
  • Implements local mobility policies (concessions, free travel, special programmes).

Founding act / legal basis

  • HCL no. 220/27.06.2013 (Local Council Decision) – reorganisation of RATP into S.C. Transport Călători Express S.A.;
  • HCL no. 289/13.03.2013 – subsequent amending/supplementing acts.
