Local Police of the Municipality of Ploiești

Brief description / mission

Public institution of local interest, with legal personality, subordinated to the Local Council, which provides public order and quiet, discipline in construction, environmental protection, traffic safety on public roads at the local level, as well as the guarding of objectives of local interest.

What it does (main functions)

  • Public order, local road safety and intervention at incidents;
  • Trade controls, environmental protection, discipline in construction;
  • Video surveillance, patrols and prevention activities;
  • Support for local authorities in enforcing Local Council decisions.

Founding act / legal basis

  • HCL no. 7/31.01.2011 (Local Council Decision) – establishment of the Local Police Ploiești;
  • Law no. 155/2010 and H.G. (Government Decision) no. 1332/2010 – general framework for organisation and operation.
