Administration of Community Social Services Ploiești (ASSC)

Brief description / mission

Public institution of local interest, with the role of implementing social policies at municipal level. It provides social benefits and support for vulnerable people, manages social housing and coordinates inclusion programmes, in cooperation with NGOs and other institutions.

What it does (main functions)

  • Grants social aid and benefits (including heating allowance);
  • Manages the network of personal carers for people with disabilities;
  • Manages the social housing stock and allocations;
  • Social assessments, investigations, services for individuals/families in difficulty;
  • Social inclusion programmes and projects, relations with NGOs;
  • Public relations, registry, information of public interest.

Founding act / legal basis

  • HCL no. 307/19.12.2002 (Local Council Decision) – establishment of ASSC, by reorganising the Social Aid Canteen and the Social Protection Directorate.
