Ploiești invests in healthcare: a new palliative care centre will be built at Ploiești Municipal Hospital
Ploiești City Hall informs the local community that, following a sustained effort to modernise medical infrastructure and support patients with advanced chronic conditions, a financing contract was signed on 29 October 2025 with the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE). The contract provides for non-reimbursable funding through the Managing Authority for the Health Programme (AMPS), for the implementation of the project with SMIS code 348156 – “Demolition of structure C14 and construction of Palliative Care Centre” at Ploiești Municipal Hospital.
The total project value amounts to 28,921,447.48 lei (including VAT), of which the contribution of the Ploiești Municipality is 16,656,257.75 lei (including VAT). This strategic investment marks an essential step in extending equitable access to specialised medical services in Prahova County, with a focus on palliative care.
The new Palliative Care Centre will be set up in a modern space, built in accordance with the latest European standards in the field, and will have 27 beds dedicated to patients with advanced chronic conditions or in terminal stages. The centre will offer high-quality medical services, in a multidisciplinary and personalised setting, that will respond to the individual needs of patients – both medically and psychologically and socially.
This initiative reflects the local administration’s commitment to improving patients’ quality of life and to strengthening the public health system in Ploiești and the entire region.
