Primăria Ploiești, in partnership with Prahova County Council, organised the “Round Table for Inclusion” event
The event took place on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, at the Europa Hall of the Administrative Palace in Ploiești.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Ploiești, Mr Mihai Polițeanu, and the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ploiești, Mrs Zoia Staicu, attended the event.
The event was held under the motto „In every Disability there is also Ability”, with the objective of creating a framework for open dialogue between public institutions, non-governmental organisations and the local community, with a view to identifying concrete solutions for the integration of persons with disabilities into society.
The gathering opened with an artistic awareness moment – a symbolic flash mob – intended to convey the message of unity and solidarity of the Ploiești community with persons with disabilities.
The participating children received from the organisers small bags filled with sweets, in a gesture preceding the tradition of Saint Nicholas Day. The gifts were distributed within the project “Sweet Christmas Joy for the Little Citizens of Ploiești“, implemented by the Prahova Community Foundation, in partnership with the Ploiești City Hall and with the support of Kaufland Romania.
The “Round Table for Inclusion” was a successful event that provided a valuable opportunity for reflection and joint action, with a view to developing more empathetic local communities, more open to the needs of every citizen.
The “Round Table for Inclusion” included three thematic discussion panels:
· “Accessibility and its essential role for social inclusion”;
· “Vocational training and labour market integration of persons with disabilities”;
· “Legislative initiatives to support persons with severe disabilities”.
The institutional participants in the event were: Direcția Generală de Asistență Socială și Protecția Copilului Prahova (the Prahova General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection), Agenția Județeană pentru Ocuparea Forței de Muncă Prahova (the Prahova County Employment Agency), Agenția Județeană pentru Plăți și Inspecție Socială Prahova (the Prahova County Agency for Payments and Social Inspection), Instituția Prefectului – județul Prahova (the Prefect’s Office of Prahova County), Inspectoratul Școlar Județean Prahova (the Prahova County School Inspectorate) and the special schools, Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Drepturilor Persoanelor cu Dizabilități (the National Authority for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities), as well as Mr Bogdan Toader, Member of Parliament for Prahova County.
The non-governmental partners involved in organising the event were: the Association of Good Deeds Entrepreneurs, the Journey to Integration and Development Association, ASCHF-R Prahova, the “By Profession Human” Association, the Disability and Friendship Association, the “We Are Romania” Association, the National Association of the Deaf in Romania – Prahova Branch and the Children with Open Wings Association.
