The “ICA – Inclusion through Adapted Cycling” project, supported by funding from the local budget

Ploiești City Hall informs citizens that the Roțile Schimbării Sports Club Association is implementing the “ICA – Inclusion through Adapted Cycling” project, supported through funding from the local budget.

The project aims to facilitate access for people with disabilities to sports activities, promoting adapted cycling as an effective means of increasing the level of social inclusion and reducing stigmatisation and discrimination.

As part of the project, two adapted bicycles were purchased for cycling by people with disabilities, with a view to their participation in cycling competitions at national and international level.

The launch event took place on 1 November 2025, in Ploiești West Municipal Park, where 15 beneficiaries took part in a demonstration training session, having the opportunity to test the new bicycles and become familiar with the equipment.

Through this project, Ploiești City Hall and the Roțile Schimbării Sports Club Association reaffirm their commitment to supporting the inclusion of people with disabilities and to promoting adapted sports as a tool for integration and active participation in the community.

We remind you that, this year, the Ploiești municipality has granted non-reimbursable funding worth 2 million lei for non-profit activities of general interest, under Law no. 350/2005. Non-reimbursable funding contracts were signed with 25 non-governmental organisations declared winners.

The project of the Roțile Schimbării Sports Club Association was designated a winner under this selection procedure. The non-reimbursable funding requested was 125,190.00 lei.
