The High Schools’ Cup football tournament begins in April, in Ploiești!

The Ploiești City Hall, the Ploiești Municipal Sports Club (CSM), the Prahova County School Inspectorate, and the Glimpse of Meaning Ploiești Association announce the organisation of the „Cupa Liceelor” (High Schools’ Cup) football competition.

The event will take place on 1 and 2 April this year, starting at 10:00, on the pitches of the West Municipal Park.

“The High Schools’ Cup” football tournament brings together 8 teams from educational institutions in the municipality of Ploiești, who will compete for the grand trophy.

The prizes for the top three teams will be awarded by CSM Ploiești and the event sponsors:  AFI Ploieşti and Crazy Bubble Ploieşti.

Following the draw conducted by representatives of the Glimpse of Meaning Ploiești Association, the 8 participating teams have been distributed into two groups:

  • Group A – „Anghel Saligny” Technological High School, „Sf. Apostol Andrei” Services Technological High School, „Toma Socolescu” Technological High School, and „1 Mai” Technological High School;
  • Group B – „Victor Slăvescu” Administrative and Services Technological High School, „Virgil Madgearu” Economic College, „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” National College, and „Mihai Viteazul” National College.

The regulations for the competition:

  • Teams of 5 + 1;
  • 2 groups of 4 teams, playing in a round-robin format;
  • The top two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals;
  • Group matches: 2 halves of 10 minutes (Wednesday, 1 April);
  • Final stage matches: 2 halves of 15 minutes (Thursday, 2 April).
