Mayor Mihai Polițeanu has awarded the Pupil and Teacher of the Year
The Ploiești municipality has today honoured excellence in education, awarding distinctions to the winners of the national and international Olympiads and competitions included in the calendar of the Ministry of Education and Research.
In a festive atmosphere, at the „Toma Caragiu” Theatre, a special award ceremony was held for pupils and teachers who achieved remarkable results during the previous school year.
The event brought together pupils, teachers, parents and representatives of the local authority.
During the ceremony, Mayor Mihai Polițeanu expressed his appreciation for all those who demonstrated passion, perseverance and excellence in education, on which occasion he awarded the title of „Pupil of the Year 2025” to the young Păun Victor Andrei, as well as the distinction of „Teacher of the Year 2025” to Ms. Prof. Constantinescu Manon, both award winners representing „Mihai Viteazul” National College Ploiești.
At today’s ceremony, 500 Ploiești pupils and teachers were awarded diplomas of excellence and cash prizes, in recognition, on behalf of the local administration, for their commitment and the effort invested in achieving academic excellence.
The prizes awarded amounted to a total of 100,000 lei, the funds being provided from the local budget.
