Ploiești City Hall informs citizens that the RO CEI Reader application is also available for iPhone users

The application was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for reading the data of the Electronic Identity Card (CEI – Cartea Electronică de Identitate) and can be downloaded free of charge from App Store, by accessing the following link: https://apps.apple.com/ro/app/ro-cei-reader/id6748060052?l=ro

This application requires iOS 15.6 or later. It also enables the quick and secure reading of data from the Electronic Identity Card (CEI) via NFC technology. All you have to do is enable NFC on your phone, enter the CAN (6 digits), enter the PIN (4 digits), bring the CEI close to the device and the information will be displayed immediately on the screen.

The Electronic Identity Card (CEI) lets you authenticate in IT systems and sign digital documents. Access to these functions is via PIN codes, which you choose when you collect the CEI, as part of the activation process.

The new RO CEI Reader application allows quick and secure reading of data, directly on the phone, namely of the information stored in the secure chip of the electronic identity card.

The RO CEI Reader application gives users the following features:

·         viewing personal information recorded on the CEI (including domicile and residence)

·         authentication in IT systems

·         electronic signing of documents using the advanced electronic signature

·         viewing information recorded in the digital certificates issued by MAI (Ministry of Internal Affairs) and stored on the card

·         resetting the authentication and signing PINs.
