Green Ploiești – the parks and recreation areas

Ploiești offers an extensive network of parks, shaded alleys and natural areas, suitable for walks, sport, family activities and time spent in nature. From the central parks with their urban history to the great natural park “Constantin Stere” and the Bucov Zoo, the city provides residents and visitors with a variety of accessible green spaces, well integrated into community life.

The main parks

Central Park

In the heart of the city, near the Palace of Culture, the Central Park is a classic green space, with shaded alleys, mature trees and relaxation areas used daily by the people of Ploiești. It is one of the best-known promenade spots in the centre.

Toma Socolescu Park

Set among historic buildings, this urban park bears the name of the great Ploiești architect. Its lush vegetation and quiet alleys make it a green oasis near the Halele Centrale.

Nichita Stănescu Park

Set among historic buildings, this urban park bears the name of the great Ploiești architect. Its lush vegetation and quiet alleys make it a green oasis near the Halele Centrale.

Mihai Viteazul Park

Laid out around the equestrian statue of Mihai Viteazul (Michael the Brave), the park is an open and bright space, a central meeting point appreciated for its accessibility and its urban atmosphere.

King Mihai I Park (Sports Hall)

A park modernised in recent years, with playgrounds, sports areas and wide alleys. It is widely used by families and young people from the Mărășești neighbourhood.

Parcul Municipal Vest (West Municipal Park)

The largest modern urban park, with artificial lakes, cycle tracks, sports areas and wide spaces for events. It is the green centre of the western part of the city.

“Constantin Stere” Memorial Park & Bucov Zoo

A metropolitan green area with wide alleys, a lake, forest, picnic spots and one of the most visited zoos in the region (50–60 species). A weekend destination for the whole family.

Parcul Libertății (Liberty Park)

A mature park, with tall trees and wide alleys, located near the Gara de Sud (South Station). It is a traditional spot of urban life, used daily by the residents of the area.

Aurora Park

A well-integrated neighbourhood green space, valued for its playgrounds, dense vegetation and friendly atmosphere. It is a landmark of the Aurora area.

North Park

A generously sized, well-shaded park with wide paths and spaces for various activities. It is the main green area of the North neighbourhood.

OZN Park

A modern park near the Sports Hall, fitted with fitness areas, a cycle track, playgrounds and recently refurbished geometric spaces. A favourite of young people and athletes.

Smaller parks and neighbourhood green spaces

Coral Park

A neighbourhood park in the western part of the city, with a playground and green spaces between blocks of flats. Appreciated for its accessibility and vegetation.

La Pietricele Park

A green space with urban history, located next to the former Modern cinema, in the Aurora area.

Mihai Eminescu Park

A quiet park in the southern part of the city, known for the bust of poet Mihai Eminescu. It is a favourite of pupils and locals for relaxing and reading outdoors.

Cina Park

An urban park in the Cina neighbourhood, with dense vegetation and playgrounds. Very popular among local families.

Obor Park

Located near the Obor market, this park includes alleys, green spaces and relaxation areas. It is heavily used by the surrounding community.
