The City Hall is involved in resolving the operation of Kindergarten with Extended Programme no. 35

The Ploiești Municipality City Hall is directly involved in resolving the operation of Kindergarten with Extended Programme no. 35, where the gas operator has cut off the supply of natural gas.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Ploiești, Mr Mihai Polițeanu, today held  direct discussions with the owner of the building in which this preschool education unit operates.

The meeting, which took place urgently at the municipality’s headquarters, was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ploiești, Mrs Zoia Staicu. 

We specify that the operator Distrigaz Sud Rețele, following the mandatory 10-year technical inspection of the natural gas usage installation, has decided to stop the supply of natural gas on the premises of the building in which Kindergarten with Extended Programme no. 35 operates, which directly affects the educational process, as well as the safety of the 60 preschool children and the staff working within this institution. Accordingly, the Direcția de Sănătate Publică Prahova (Prahova Public Health Directorate) has decided to suspend the educational process on the premises of the building affected by the gas shutdown.

We mention that the building in question is not owned by the Ploiești Municipality City Hall, but is owned by a private individual. 

In this context, following today’s discussions, conducted by the Ploiești executive, it was established that the owner of the building at 27 Maramureș St. will resolve, on an emergency basis and at his own expense, the technical issues identified by the gas operator at the level of the natural gas supply network.

To ensure the continuity of the educational process at Kindergarten with Extended Programme no. 35, the leadership of the Ploiești municipality is seeking solutions for the temporary relocation of the children’s groups to another location.   

We provide institutional support to the leadership of Kindergarten with Extended Programme no. 35 and assure the parents of the preschool children and the teaching staff that we will cooperate continuously with all local stakeholders directly involved, in order to swiftly and efficiently resolve this situation, which is affecting the educational process on the premises of the school unit mentioned.
