Military ceremonies dedicated to the Day of the Victory of the Romanian Revolution and of Liberty will be held in Ploiești

Primăria municipiului Ploiești (Ploiești City Hall) and the Ploiești Garrison are organising a series of events on the occasion of the Day of the Victory of the Romanian Revolution and of Liberty, Monday, 22 December 2025.

Thus, starting at 10:00, at the Bolovani, Viișoara and Eternitatea cemeteries, simultaneous activities will be held to honour the memory of the heroes of the 1989 Romanian Revolution. Religious services will be officiated and wreaths and flower bouquets will be laid. 

At the same time, at the Monument to the Heroes of the December 1989 Revolution, in front of the Administrative Palace, a series of events will be organised, starting at 11:00, in the presence of officials, revolutionaries and Ploiești residents. The event programme includes the singing of the National Anthem of Romania, the officiation of religious services, the laying of wreaths and flower bouquets and the parade of the Honour Guard. 

The ceremonies dedicated to the Day of the Victory of the Romanian Revolution and of Liberty will continue from 12:30, at the Monument to the Heroes of the December 1989 Revolution at the “Înălțarea Domnului” Cathedral, where specific military activities will take place, a religious service will be officiated and wreaths and flower bouquets will be laid. 

To ensure the smooth running of the events organised on Monday, 22 December 2025, the following measures have been ordered for road traffic in the city:

·         From 09:00: 

–          road traffic will be eased in the area of the Bolovani – Sondelor Street, Viișoara – C-tin Brezeanu Street and Eternitatea – Gh. Petrescu Street cemeteries (in the cemetery access area)

·         Between 10:30 – 11:40: 

–          road traffic will be closed on Bd. Republicii (the Vasile Milea St. – Tache Ionescu St. section) – for the parade of the military troops in the central area of the city;

·         Between 12:15 – 13:15: 

–          traffic will be eased in the area of the “Înălțarea Domnului” Cathedral in the West neighbourhood.
