Ploiești City Hall informs citizens that, in the context of the current epidemiological situation at national and European level regarding avian influenza, as well as the increased risk of introduction and spread of avian viruses on the territory of Romania (the main factor being migratory wild birds), in order to manage effectively cases of mortality among wild birds through the immediate notification of the veterinary authorities and their coordinated intervention, it is necessary that any case of a wild bird found dead be notified immediately to the official veterinarian of the Municipality of Ploiești, at tel. 0740 829035.
We emphasise the necessity that interventions on dead wild birds be carried out exclusively by authorised personnel, in compliance with biosecurity measures, in order to prevent epidemiological risks.
These activities are essential both for preventing the spread of diseases among bird populations and for protecting public health.
