New tax incentives for persons with disabilities

Ploiești City Hall informs citizens that, through the Ploiești Local Public Finance Service (Serviciul Public Finanțe Locale), tax incentives are granted to persons with disabilities, in accordance with the provisions of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 9/2026.

The legal act was published in the Official Gazette of Romania no. 157 of 27 February 2026.

The Ploiești Local Public Finance Service (S.P.F.L.) is currently carrying out all the necessary steps for the implementation of all legislative changes, with a view to ensuring a fair and equitable tax framework.

The tax incentives provided for by Government Emergency Ordinance no. 9/2026 are as follows:

Persons with severe disabilities, as well as their legal representatives, during the period in which they have persons with severe disabilities in their care, supervision and maintenance, benefit from:
a 50% reduction in the tax on the building used as a residence, owned or co-owned by them, as well as on the related land;
a 50% reduction in the tax on a single means of transport, with a cylinder capacity of less than 2,000 cc.

Persons with marked disabilities, as well as their legal representatives, during the period in which they have persons with marked disabilities in their care, supervision and maintenance, benefit from:
a 25% reduction in the tax on the building used as a residence, owned or co-owned by them, as well as on the related land;
a 25% reduction in the tax on a single means of transport, with a cylinder capacity of less than 2,000 cc.

The records of S.P.F.L. Ploiești show approximately 7,600 beneficiaries of these tax incentives. Completing the update operations will take a few days.

In this context, we ask taxpayers in the categories mentioned above to visit the SPFL Ploiești cash desks or to make their online payment, after 10 March.

We ask that this date be respected to avoid repeated visits by vulnerable persons to the S.P.F.L. Ploiești offices and to allow them, at the same time, to benefit from the 10% bonus granted for full advance payment by 31 March.
