Ploiești City Hall and the Autonomous Public Services Authority (Regia Autonomă de Servicii Publice) inform citizens that the burning of plant waste resulting from household activities (leaves, branches, dry grass or other plant residues) in courtyards, gardens or on any land belonging to the public or private domain is prohibited.

 In accordance with the provisions of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 92/2021 on the waste regime, with subsequent amendments and additions, art. 20 para. (5) provides that the incineration of any kind of waste is prohibited.

At the same time, according to art. 66 para. (1) lit. e) of the same legal act, failure to comply with obligations on waste management and the disposal of waste by burning constitutes an offence and is punishable by:

  • fine from 30,000 lei to 45,000 lei for natural persons;
  • fine from 50,000 lei to 70,000 lei for legal persons.

For the protection of the environment and public health, citizens are required to manage plant waste from households appropriately, by:

  • composting in the household, where possible.
  • handing it over to the local sanitation operator, who can be contacted at the telephone numbers: 0244.933 or 021.9640

Ploiești City Hall, through its subordinate institutions, will monitor compliance with these legal provisions and will apply the sanctions provided for by law in cases where violations are found.
